Currently, the main mortgage lenders for real estate purposes in Ghana are Ghana Home Loans and Home Finance Company, although there are some major high street banks that also provide the service.
Generally, mortgage repayments in Ghana are spread over 10 to 15 years with an average interest rate of 13% and a minimum deposit of 25% of the purchase price. There are other fees including survey and arrangement fees borne by the applicant. The usual status and affordability requirements apply.
